Founder and owner, Alexandre Chemla has overseen Altour's growth into the successful global presence that it is today. Often quoted and profiled in the press for his expertise in the aviation industry, Chemla has earned a reputation for being one of the most forward-thinking leaders in today's highly competitive world of travel. With more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, French native Chemla has built his reputation on the strong interpersonal relationships he has developed around the world and his ability to negotiate favorably on behalf of his clients. Under his leadership, Altour has sustained more than a 20% average annual growth and has expanded to 19 locations in the US and Europe with more than 500 travel professionals.
Prior to founding Altour in 1991, Chemla was an executive for Club Med where he created revolutionary systems in sales, marketing and transportation that became benchmark programs for the company. As both an airline and hotel consultant, he built industry-wide relationships that led him to create today's group of inter-related travel companies based on the philosophy that diversification brings strength as well as opportunities for synergy.
